The Human Behind The Bumblebee
Hello! I’m Bianca.
I’ve worn a lot of hats (and uniforms) in my time — from picking cherries in the Huon Valley to pouring pints at Hobart institutions like The Ball & Chain Grill, O Bar and Jack Greene. I’ve worked across hospitality, corporate, community and creative worlds, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that every space has its own rhythm.
These days, my ‘day job’ is with NAB, where I’ve spent over a decade helping leaders find better ways of working. Along the way I’ve coached, consulted, and helped deliver large-scale projects and national Pride events — all while moonlighting as a marketing and events all-rounder in Hobart’s arts scene.
My happy place is musical theatre. I’ve performed, fundraised, produced and marketed shows for companies like Old Nick and now run the Hobart Theatre Summer School for young performers. I love seeing people discover their voice and find their confidence on stage.
I started The Bumblebee because I wanted to take everything I’ve learned — about people, purpose and storytelling — and use it to help others make an impact. Whether it’s a café owner finding their audience or a non-profit spreading their message, I’m all in.
I live in Lauderdale with my two kids, Isla and Remy, and our shmoodles, Archie and Baxter. I’m passionate about inclusion, kindness and doing work that means something. I’m a serial over-committer, but I wouldn’t have it any other way — because I believe passion is contagious, and that’s exactly the kind of energy worth sharing.
